Principal's Message

Dear Chavez Parents and Community

I welcome you to Cesar E. Chavez School and to an amazing year of learning for your child! I am honored and humbled to be the principal at this site. We are focused on promoting the academic and social development of all our students in a safe and friendly environment. Our PAWS school wide behavior expectations are: Positive, Accountable, Working Together and Safe & Successful.

In addition to the English core curriculum, the school offers a Dual Immersion Program in grades K-6 where the goal is for students to become bi-literate. Most importantly we strive to provide your child with excellent instruction in all content areas by making sure that our children have all the core materials to implement the Common Core Standards.  We also provide the opportunities for professional development and collaboration time for our staff. This is instrumental in preparing our students to be college and career ready.

Our dedicated staff is looking forward to working with your child; however, our success depends on your involvement as well. We view our parents/guardians as equal partners in providing our children with meaningful educational experiences. Parents are a vital part of the Cesar Chavez Community and your contributions are invaluable, therefore; we encourage you to become active participants in school meetings and activities.

I look forward to working with you and developing a relationship that will assist in promoting the growth of your child/children.

Sincerely,
Sylvia Gomez
